No sugar added--no taste added--plenty of ice---no cream

Bought the Neapolitan (vanilla-chocolate-strawberry)--1st complaint---needed an ice pick or sledge hammer to get ice mixture out--I hesitate to call it Ice cream as there is no creaminess associated with this stuff...It was more like iced water --almost broke my spoon trying to get this stuff into a bowl....2nd complaint---what the *** is up with the strawberry----it in NO way even tasted like artificial strawberry much less real strawberry...3rd complaint--the texture, smell and taste was off putting...luckily I didn't get much in my bowl so I didn't have that much to throw out.....In all---DISGUSTING!!!! I WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN!!

Unilever apparently bought Breyers. Figures...Unilever is a soap company that would know good ice cream from softsoap!

Guest

I totally agree with your comments about this Breyers Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry so-called "ice cream". I had the exact same experience.

This is the most disgusting tasting, weak, watered down MESS I have ever bought.

Breyers should be ashamed of itself for peddling this GARBAGE to consumers. They used to be a good ice cream company but now they ain't ***!

Any resemblance to real ice cream is purely coincidental

I haven't bought any brand of ice cream in years, but today I recalled how much I loved Breyer's ice cream my whole life, and I really missed it. I decided to pig out on it tonight, so I ran to the store and bought a carton of Butter Pecan. I couldn't believe it only cost $2.50 with tax - it must be on some kind of super sale! Yeah, right. I got it home and found the carton was actually filled with a flavorless soft foam with so much air blown into it that an astronaut could breathe Breyers ice cream in space. There were one or two pecans in there too. Breyers is now a "frozen dairy dessert", obviously for the same reasons McDonald's has "shakes" but not MILK shakes. Breyers, you fooled me once but never again. Enjoy that $2.50, you'll never get another nickel from me.

Breyers Ice Cream Review

Website lying about how many net carbs that are on some of their "CarbSmart" products. The Vanilla Ice Cream Bars are touted as having only 4 net carbs, yet it has 6 grams of sugar on it. That would make it at least 6 net carbs.

What Happened to the Caramel Praline Crunch?

What Happened to the Breyers Caramel Praline Crunch Ice Cream? I loved the Caramel Praline Crunch and I can't find it anymore at any of the stores in my area.

It was a flavor I don't see in any other Manufacturer or Ice Cream. I don't eat very many sweets but that was one treat that I allowed myself to indulge in occasionally. The only other I like is the Creamy Vanilla but that doesn't hit my sweet tooth like the Caramel Praline Crunch. I have not seen it in any store for a few months now.

I hope it wasn't discontinued. :(

I too loved that flavor! I believe it has been discontinued cuz I've been to several States and cannot find it but I can tell you there is another flavor that is just as good if not better!

It's by an old time favorite.

It's pet ice cream Southern caramel crunch. It's vanilla ice cream with caramel swirl and crunchy toffee pieces it's just missing the pralines but sometimes I swear I get a little taste of a praline LOL but I'm telling you it's freaking fantastic sorry Breyers but if you drop our flavor we got to find it somewhere else LOL

Guest

Just ate 2 scoops of totally NASTY neapolitan "frozen dessert"

I just went to buy what I thought was ice-cream, I picked this neapolitan flavour. It was $2.99 CAD by the way, I guess the price attracted me. I tried some when I got home and it was super soft, first *** was into the strawberry flavour and it was so gross, tasted like medicine or maybe worse. the ice cream doesn't melt in my mouth, it felt like foam or those cream similar that you would find on cake. The top right of the package said "rich and creamy". But not in a good way! After this, I realised I ate bad icecream awhile back, I guess I forgot what brand it was and now I remember. I went on youtube and google to find info and found out all these people with same experience, now the tub is out of the freezer to see if it will melt at all by tomorrow. I doubt it, and I will just throw it out. NEVER AGAIN!

Breyers Cherry Vanilla - Weird consistency and awful taste

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had not purchased Breyers cherry vanilla in a while. The recipe has been totally changed. It has a weird soft consistency and aside from the cherry pieces tastes and feels awful in the mouth. Checking the label it's now classified as a "frozen dairy dessert" and it's loaded with corn syrup, whey, and other processed ingredients which have ruined it. It's so disappointing to see what Unilever has done to this brand since purchasing it in 2006. They've taken a brand which prided itself on natural ingredients and degraded it to just another "dairy dessert" Very sad to see this.

False advertising of Breyers "ice cream"

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Check the supermarket shelf label. If it says "Ice Cream" and it's really "Frozen Dairy Dessert," that's deceptive advertising and it's illegal. In Denver, Kroger has agreed to change all the labels after I complained. I filed a false advertising complaint with the Colorado attorney general's Consumer Fraud Division for another chain and suggest you do the same with your state. In my opinion, this is a blatant attempt by Unilever to mislead. Both products are in virtually identical containers, they're intermingled in the freezer, and they're priced the same. The only difference is one small, hard to read line which says "Ice Cream" or "Frozen Dairy Dessert." Don't let them get away with it!!

Breyer's New Coffee Ice Cream Tastes Bad

Two of my favorite ice creams have always been Breyer's coffee and Breyer's natural vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, their coffee flavor has recently been changed, and is now bitter (especially the aftertaste).

Maybe they were trying to go for a more realistic coffee flavor (it does taste more like coffee), but they ignored an elementary selling rule...

**If it's been selling good for a long time and there is no reason to think it will stop selling good in the near future, DON'T CHANGE THE PRODUCT (or service).**

I'm not looking for ice cream that tastes like coffee. I hate coffee. Even if I liked coffee, there are plenty of other ice creams that taste like coffee already (some have whole coffee beans in them).

Just because it's called "coffee ice cream" doesn't mean it has to taste like coffee. Leave that to cappuccino ice cream and Starbucks' iced frappuccinos. Give me back my cream and sugar!

(Not buying it again unless the label changes, in which case I'll try it once more. If it's still bad, I'm switching brands.)

I haven't purchased Breyers coffee ice cream since they changed the flavor. Their coffee ice cream WAS my favorite. It's a shame they felt the need to change it.

Always thought having Breyers ice cream as a special treat...until I found a piece of hard plastic the size of a fingernail in the Chocolate portion of the half chocolate half vanilla. .. I have contacted the company through the website..let's see what happens. Amazed at all the complaints this company has. Very curious as to the company response based on the glass issue of one patron complaint...better to buy an ice cream maker and kiss the corporate world of mass marketing goodbye

"Frozen Dairy Dessert"???!!!??? What the *** is THAT?? What...do you think we're ***???!!! Where's the wonderful ice cream you used to make??? It's certainly NOT "Coffee Ice Cream"...and I'll never buy it again. YUK!!! You do still make the Natural Vanilla really well. I WILL buy that. But I tried your Orange Sherbet Swirl and it was terrible...with all kinds of fake stuff in it and WAY too soft. Never again. I buy Friendly's Orange Swirl. They have ice cream and orange sherbet on the box.. not a bunch of chemicals. BRING BREYERS BACK!!! PLEASE!!!!

Breyers has sunk to its lowest level ever. They have obviously changed their ingredients and increased their production. I grew up with Breyers in Philadelphia and the flavors and quality have changed so much it should be put in a different package. It started some time ago when they reduced the size of their package from one half gallon and increased the price. I would have been willing to pay more for less if the quality hadn't been reduced so significantly. A great product is gone and it's sad. Can't wait for Blue Bell to start product again.

Old favorite gone rotten

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Went to buy Breyer's Cherry Vanilla, my husband's favorite and found out that is now a frozen dairy treat not ice cream. Its gummed up with thickeners and corn syrup- absolutely horrible. Its misleading, because the packaging in similar- but the quality is notthere. Why would a company that has a good reputation sell out to UNILEVER, where chemistry is now making ice cream. UNILEVER if you are lucky enough to aquire a great brand, learn your customer.  NO ONE WANTS THIS UNHEALTHY GUNK for desert. Check out the label, where gum agents have replaced natural ingredients. I wonder what country this is coming from, it does not even resemble something made in USA.

Commercial

Your commercial regarding Gelato and the parents who deny their son some--this commercial is in extreme bad taste! What kind of parents would make up excuses not to share their gelato with their child and what kind of company would think viewers would want to watch it on their televisions? I leave the room when your commercial comes on. I have purchased your products and always found them to be delicious, but am truly dumbfounded by this rude commercial. It makes the parents look bad and your company look bad. It doesn't do anything but recreate sympathy for the little boy.

Breyers Ice Cream Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My husband and I each chose our own pint of ice cream, he chose a variety from ben and jerrys, while i selected the breyers heath bar blast. Mine was half as much quantity, and that royally annoyed me, almost the same price and nearly half as much! Then when i went on breyers website there is a number to call but no way to ever get through to a person!
