Had a "pint" of Breyer's Natural Vanilla, and according to container, a serving is 1/2 cup, servings in container, 4. I was holding the container and noticed that it felt awfully light, nowhere near what the pints used to feel like.
I removed the seal, opened it, and the ice cream was up to the rim. I found the ice cream extremely easy to spoon out. Now I was using a basic plastic dinner spoon, like they give you at a take-away food place. I had had 3 or 4 bites, not mounded on the spoon, and then looked down.
The container was more than halfway empty. I can only guess that the pints are being injected with air to "fluff up" the cream, and as I dipped my spoon in, it deflated.
I looked on the package for the "This product sold by weight, not volume" statement and could not find it. Will not be buying Breyers again anytime soon.
